House is designed with passive sustainable concepts in mind. Structure’s orientation is based on sun path diagram, while the position and size of fenestrations work well with glare and daylighting concepts. Geometry is derived from study of energy envelope. Cooling and heating loads are minimized while thermal mass is used as storage.
White prevails as an undertone within the perception of this house surrounded with trees foliage in nature. House was designed for a couple and two children. Parents in their thirties own a business together and work from home. Meetings and work sessions with collaborators occur in the house.
Special diagram depicts semi-private ground floor where personal life overlaps with workflows. The second floor is dedicated to sleeping areas and quiet study with an access to roof garden.
Space created is a base for a balanced living and work in nature within an hour drive to NYC.
