Our office was retained to design a kitchen for a small apartment in Chelsea, NYC. We provided two layouts, one with built-in stove and microwave in vertical elements and the other depicting a microwave and hood above the cooktop. The play between familiar feeling of traditional NYC kitchen layout and radicalized decomposed composition was an intentional design approach to understand client’s affinities. Round shape sink brings softness to U-shape kitchen.
Our office supported the project with preparing technical drawings for co-op review and submitting Alt. 2 filings to the NYC DOB for approvals. Special inspections are to be performed by LIA DPC, as well.
